Mayan Ruins of Chichen Itza

The Mundo Maya's most famous site, Chichen Itza was founded in 445 BC and inhabited until 1204 AD when, mysteriously, it was abandoned. The site is centered around the largest structure, the pyramid El Castillo (The Castle), which has steps that end in huge serpents heads. During the Equinoxes, these steps cast shadows which give the appearance of a great snake descending the pyramid. Other important buildings include the Observatory, the temple of Chac Mool, and the Tzompantli, a representation of the underworld.

    Chichen Itza is the most amazing Mayan Archeological site of the Mayan ruins. Walking around Chichen Iza you can almost smell and feel this great civilization. It's like you travel back in time and are around this wise people, so full of knowlegde. We opted for the Overnight Deluxe package from Cancun Today which took us to Chichen Itza and allowed us to stay in the one-of-a-kind Mayaland Hotel. It's the best thing we've done in Cancun! We got the VIP treatment, were pampered like we were royalty and enjoyed ourselves tremendously. Highly recommended. You are going to feel like a Mayan King. The service is great!

    If you are in Cancún don't miss Chichen Itza like 3 hours drive from Cancún going in land. To visit this wonderful Mayan Ruins, let me know more about the Mayan mysteries and civilization. This was a great city, in it's times for sure! Do you know the Mayan numerical system is very similar to ours,that they were using the "0" zero, before European civilizations AMAZING! That´s why they were excelent in their geographical orientation,calendar and more... Don´t miss it.

    Once on a life experience, don't miss Watch the equinox in Chichen-Itza. You can see the shadow of a serpent descending from the pyramid. We visited Chichen-Itza during the March Equinox. The place was full of spiritualists. People had come from all over the world to witness the sun setting on the pyramid to give an image of the serpent god kukulcan slithering down the side of the pyramid the day was sunny and beautiful.Unfortunately you can not longer climb the pyramid or go inside. But Chichen Itza is still being the number one city of the Mayan Ruins enjoy it take the time to visit this ancient site you need at least 4 hours to be around. Thank to the team of Cancun Today for the suggestion, Iwas great!

    You can not miss Chichen Itza the 7th Wonder of the World. Unbelievable, it is a unique experience, you really have to live it.It's real important that you make arrangements in advance with a tour company.Ours is Cancun Today great deals, great tour.they customized the tour to us. We have the time of ours lifes, the place is full of energy, magic, we love history. After the visit we when to a Cenote "ikil" beautiful you are in heaven after the hot weather and the long walk.This was an extra bonus on our tour to Chichen Itza. Jump in the crystal water, it's as a natural pool the water is so cool! Awesome! High Reccomended.
